Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.
Officers state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement say early analysis suggest the substance was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any injuries in relation with the event," they stated.
City officials announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior representative stated the incident left him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
